Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 221 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

The broken bag consequence (A-Z)

“Ariel, where are you”?
“Back here in the yard” Kevin responded for me.
“Can you two come help me with the grocery?”
Dragging my meet to the car I grabbed five bags hoping it wouldn’t break, the bag or my arms. Especially not my arms, i always thought one trip was better than two. Fear got the best of me, as I dropped the bags.
“Great” kevin said with stress in his voice. “How are you going to explain this one to mom without her screaming at you”
“I can blame you and have her scream at you”. Jokingly I laughed as I grabbed the bags again running inside. Kevin ran inside after me but it was too late. Laughing at him was probably one of the worst things I could have done. Mom began to smack him so heard.
“No” he screamed. Opening his hands out in front of him trying to catch her hands. “Please stop”
“Quiet, you little shit” mom yelled. Right than I grabbed her and pushed her away from him.
“Stop it” I yelled
“Tell her it was you Ariel please” cried Kevin
“Unfortunately, it was me, mom”
“Very well than” she started. “Will you get ready?” “X-rays, will need to be performed after this beating you’re about to get for lying, having me beat your brother and breaking the bag with eggs.

Zig zagging around her was the best way for me to get out the house and never looking back.
