Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 221 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

Anyway I can by Charles
Anyway I can.
Before I say why, I must tell you this.
Calvin is my friend.
Day after day we would run.
Every day we would do a variety of drills.
Friday we would do a light jog.
Getting in shape is very important.
Having good cardio helps with endurance.
I sometimes look forward to Sundays when we run in the park.
Jogging through the wooded area can be relaxing.
Keeping up with each other is fun.
Learning to pace ourselves through the course helps us during races.
Most of the time we get pizza after a run.
Night after night my legs feel sore from running.
Only when we have a race coming up do we take days off from training.
People have told us to carb up prior to races.
Quickly we eat pastas, rice and proteins as well to keep up our strength.
Running can be a lot of fun but you also have to remember to hydrate.
Sometimes, a race may have people on the sidelines passing water to the runners.
Temperature can play a factor in how much hydration is needed.
Understanding your body can help making your movements more efficient during a run.
Very good runners know their bodies’ limitations and prepare accordingly.
When the race is over the body both hurts and feels good.
Xenophobia causes people to only run with people in their circle that they know but Calvin is my friend.
You should exercise and challenge yourself (safely) as often as possible anyway you can.

Zen masters have said, “The greatest victory is over oneself” loosely quoted.
