Lithopedion

The story said it all in the title. I don't know if the author was expecting for the audience to not know what the word meant. To be honest I had to look it up, but before when I didn't know what the title meant I read the first line of the story and right away I knew what it was about. Just saying that there was a baby stuck in her abdomen for twenty years allowed me to know that the cesarean she was getting wasn't for a live baby but it was to take out a huge mass of tissue that covered up the dead fetus within her. The story wasn't so clear in saying whether the guy that was with her was her husband, but I think he was. It grossed me out having to know that the mother and the husband were holding on to that decaying mass of tissue. I didn't get the end so well so I don't know what they did to the dead fetus after when they decided they had to do something with it after "taking care" of it for so many days.
