Objects of Desire

I think that the topic is well suited, it can be relatable to two things, his girl's desire for the bird and his desire for sex. A virgin at 30, wow I wish that was me. lol
Xin seems to be one of the good guys, who for a moment did something bad and will regret it for the rest of his life. Him setting the bird free compares to setting his guilt free. 
I love the vision the writer was able to give us by the usage of "diving then ascending on invisible spires of hot chimney air" it shows the creativity of the writer and his ability to paint a picture.
