Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 221 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

motherlode

i think the beginning of the story makes David appear to want a lot of money, the way in the diner he looked at the register and than in the car when he was wondering who Ray was and if he could bring him in for a huge reward that it'll be great for his business. It sets the tone for the story in a way that you know nothing good is going to happen at the end. He is trying to hid from people and than when he leaves he is than forced to take Ray to his girlfriends house 2 hours away. I felt like it was a hillbilly story.
