Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 221 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

you'll apologize if you have to response to scene

The scene between Wallace, molly and Kim is a scene where man or fighter like Wallace is losing his family. Feeling angry at the world and in a way himself for not being a better father and husband. So he's punishing himself by smoking weed or earlier in the story trying to get in a drunken frenzy ; abusing his body turning it into a theme park. Also the neighbor is a manifestation of Wallace's hurt, anger, frustration and feeling lost. Both women Molly and kim feel that the dont reconize him anymore.

both scenes i felt were in complete opposites of one another. You have the scene between Wallace, Kim, Molly and the Neighbor had a destructive, hardcore, in your face type attitude to it. While the scene with the woman had a comical, romantic often time peaceful setting to it. I felt Wallace even
for that moment of time had a moment of peace and serenity. The beach is the setting for the that and while he's looking out  he's thinking about his daughter, mistakes he made and what next for him.
