Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 221 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

The feeling i get from the conclusion of Sh'khol is that there is no ending ; basically a cliffhanger. the author is telling the reader to make up your own ending to the story. This ending gives off a vibe of cold and uncertainly.  Meanwhile the conclusion for Jack, July has a vibe of everything is going off at once ; meaning that jack's life is filled with disgust and situations that are uncontrollable. Plus having the thought of life is so shitty and it's not worth it. Maybe this story should have an alternate ending maybe have jack reclaim his dignity instead of being a bum.
