Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 221 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

Fugue was a perfect example of the horror people with mental illness go through with their everyday lives.  It portrays the disassembling of the sequence of what makes up a life.  The chaos and confusion is made evident to most everyone who comes in contact with Wild Turkey.  Wild Turkey has been dealt heaps and barrels of dis fortune in his life all ultimately complicating an already perplexed life that he is not able to fully manage.  This story although not easy or in my opinion enjoyable to read allows us to feel the comfortableness of the life of so many humans on this earth.
