Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 221 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

Response to ---You'll apologize if you have to.

This is a response to the scene we read in the story between the character Wallace and his ex Kim involving his daughter Molly.

The scene is a great example of what a relationship is like between a family that is broken due to a career path. Wallace and Kim doesn't seem to be on good terms personally but are cordial because of their daughter Molly. You can see that Kim wants Wallace to be around in Molly's life but because of his career he doesn't.

The relationship between these two is honestly a standard or typical couple during my generation and or is how portrayed in my society now.

----
Next scene.

The ending scene/conclusion involved with Wallace trying to speak to the man with the green jacket, so that he can apologize for pushing him in the mud. He ends up talking to the man's wife and they talk about the incident and also more. You see in this scene how much he loves fighting but hates that it makes the rest of the world boring and meaningless to him. I like how this ending wrapped up the whole story with informing us of how the character tries to do right by him and others, but also leaves you questioning what would happen next after the husband comes in and sees wallace with his wife.
