As Wallace goes to the house to give an apology to the man who he basically tripped into the mud out of anger, he was greeted by the Mans wife who is noticeably older than the guy whom he had the argument with. This conversation I feel was the releasing of everything that Wallace was feeling. Even though it was the conclusion for the story to me it played a role as in opening up a new person in Wallace like a new beginning. Although the lady didn't know him she still took it upon herself to be a listening ear to Wallace and that is what he really needed was someone who knew nothing about him but to listen with a non-judging ear.
Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 221 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

you'll apologize if you have to
In the scene that we just read, I feel that the character is battling with the lost of his fight and also him losing some trust from his daughter. Wallace who is now talking to his wife I honestly feel is trying his best to seem like in a way he is changing for the better but in all reality its a challenge for him so instead he just tells her what is really going on. Its like a battle from within.
